Community Print Art Project

The Social Outfit’s Community Print Programs are much-loved textile art workshops delivered in collaboration with people from our refugee and new migrant community, reflecting a hopeful and inclusive Australian Spirit.

The Community print project facilitator from The Social Outfit work with the participants over a number of weeks, introducing a range of artistic techniques. Participants create individual artworks which the professional artist will then use elements from to design a collaborative repeat textile print, to be sewn into distinctive Australian fashion. Proceeds from garment sales will support our charity to continue creating training and employment pathways for refugee women.

Participants artworks and reflections on the theme will be exhibited in the windows of The Social Outfit at the conclusion of the project. Students, families and members of the wider community will be invited to a celebration and showcase event at the conclusion of the workshops.
