Celebrating 10 years of Impact

The Social Outfit's 10th Birthday party was an evening celebrating community and socially responsible fashion. At the event, the refugee women The Social Outfit has trained and employed during our 10 years of operation came together with donors, customers and fashion industry supporters at Carriageworks.

It was a night filled with music, dancing and celebration along with a display of dresses showcasing an anthology of original The Social Outfit community and artist prints developed over the years. These one of a kind print anthology dresses are now available to purchase online and in-store.

The night was a community-centred celebration, showcasing the impact and the women The Social Outfit has supported since 2014.  The event program featured Female Arabic drumming performances from VK Entertainment, a series of The Social Outfit Community stories from Retail Trainee graduates Maria and Faridah, as well as Han and Soheyla speaking on behalf of our talented workroom.

In addition the Story Factory and The Social Outfit presented their 'Free to Fashion' collaboration; an exploration by a group of 32 young Western Sydney women of fashioning and identity through the creative practices of art-making and writing. The students' process was showcased and their outcomes (The Social Outfit's 10th birthday print 'Amplify' and a publication of texts) are now available to purchase.
