Fabric Donations

Fashion production generates enormous volumes of surplus fabric: end-of-roll stock, cancelled orders, excess inventory. Without a reuse pathway, it can end up as textile waste.

The Social Outfit gives local fashion brands an ethical alternative. Partner with us, and we'll transform your deadstock fabric and haberdashery into new garments, keeping materials in use and reducing the need for new fabric production.

We welcome fabrics and haberdashery such as buttons, zips, lace and fusing.

We're currently focused on partnerships with fashion brands and businesses, rather than individual donations, and we assess each donation against what we're producing at the time.

To be considered, we need a minimum of 5 metres of fabric, along with photos and details of your donation. Email info@thesocialoutfit.org to start the conversation.

Fashion Industry Partners

To date, we’ve partnered with over 50 Australian fashion industry brands and labels to repurpose their textile waste from landfill, deliver creative projects, support refugee staff to transition to external employment, collaborate on photo shoots and design limited edition digital prints.
