Fairfield High School Digital Print Project
The Social Outfit collaborated with students from Fairfield High School’s Intensive English Centre to develop a beautiful collection of artworks displayed as part of our The Social Outfit World event and featured in new stationery and digital textile prints.
Over a six week period, the students developed their own artistic skills by creating collages centred around the theme of ‘New Discoveries’. Working with artist and designer Eloise Rapp and their teacher Melia, they learnt new techniques in painting, drawing and design principles, allowing them to fully express their style and individuality. The resulting artworks were then turned into a vibrant textile print.
The Social Outfit has been privileged to work with Fairfield High School since 2013, collaborating with and providing workshops for their students, of whom 91% speak a language other than English at home. The community of Fairfield is one of the most multicultural in Sydney, home to residents from all over the world.
This project was made possible with funding from the Ian Potter Foundation and ING DIRECT Dreamstarter support.
