Celebrated Australian designer Bianca Spender has partnered with The Social Outfit to design two garments for David Jones, as part of a limited edition Ethical Clothing Australia accredited capsule collection for Fashion Revolution Week, 2018. Each garment was designed and cut in the Bianca Spender Sydney workroom from remnant silk, and sewn by The Social Outfit's sewing technicians in our Newtown workshop. 100% of the sales of each garment will be donated to The Social Outfit, to help continue our social mission. The Social Outfit supports and employs women from the refugee and new migrant community to gain vital skills and work experience, and develop social connections.

Fashion Revolution Week was established in 2014 on the first anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh, claiming the lives of 1138 workers and injuring 2500 others. Fashion Revolution aims to celebrate fashion as a positive influence and through its #whomademyclothes social media campaign, provides a platform to connect consumers to the people behind their clothes. Fashion Revolution Week 2018 runs from April 23 – 29. |
