Sharing the love: A guide to supporting small business
The last few weeks have been challenging for everyone, particularly for small businesses and their teams. We've put together a small guide for how you can best support not just us - but other small and local businesses just like us during these trying times.
Unlike large corporations, small businesses like us often don't have the capacity to weather this storm without some help, which is why we look to you, our community, for support and encouragement!
Everybody loves a gift voucher for their favourite store. There's no need to worry about sizes or colours or being racked with indecision - it's the perfect gift!
During these trying times, it's all the more important to remember causes for celebration. Got a loved one's birthday or a special anniversary coming up? Surprise them with a gift voucher - and give small businesses like us a boost at the same time.
Or perhaps it's just for you. Maybe you don't need anything right this second, but once we're all through this (and we will get through this), you'll re-discover that gift card and you'll be able to give yourself a high-five (after all, social distancing will be a thing of the past). For the community's best interests, many businesses - us included - have made the difficult decision to close their physical retail stores. However this doesn't mean you can't get your ethical fashion fix from us while you do your part to #flattenthecurve.
Our doors might be closed but our online shop is most definitely open! We find that we're far more productive working from home when we're not in our jammies - and we're far more happy when we're wearing our bright, beautiful, ethically-made tops!
It might feel a bit silly to get all dressed up with nowhere to go, but speaking from our own experiences, keeping that routine of getting dressed in the morning can help kick-start the day and catching sight of your stylish self while video conferencing will leave you feeling plain ol' good!

As a not-for-profit organisation, our community employment and training programs have always been the core of our mission. We believe that supporting refugee and new migrants to be work ready and engaged in the workforce is the best way to develop sense of belonging and build social cohesion.
The unfortunate reality is that these disadvantaged communities may be the ones hit the hardest by the evolving situation, as support networks such as ours begin to come under pressure.

Perhaps the most important thing you can do for small businesses like us is to cheer us on - whether it's sharing our posts on Instagram, reading our newsletter or commenting on our blog - it all encourages us to keep on going.
Leaving a good review for a business on Google who's really struggling at the moment can brighten their whole day - and sharing their update with a word of encouragement can truly uplift them.
