'Who Are You Wearing?' - An Exhibition by Fairfield City Museum & Gallery
Who Are You Wearing? - Fairfield City Museum & Gallery from The Social Outfit on Vimeo.
We are beyond excited and proud to announce our involvement in Fairfield City Museum & Gallery's new exhibition 'Who Are You Wearing?'
Celebrating local talent, 'Who Are You Wearing?' provides a platform for future forward western Sydney fashion designers. By putting the focus on slow fashion and sustainable practice, this exhibition considers the impact of the fashion industry on the world around us.
This video, developed by CuriousWorks as a part of the exhibition, profiles 3 of our refugee sewing technicians - Janette, Marzia and Lilyrose - chronicling their story, what brought them to The Social Outfit and what it means to be a sewing technician at The Social Outfit.
The exhibition will also be showcasing the work we do as well as spotlighting our 2019 Fairfield Community print completed in collaboration with young students from Fairfield High School Intensive English Centre. We're stoked to be a part of an exhibition that aligns so closely with our values and what we stand for!
The 'Who Are You Wearing' exhibition will run from 29 April - 24 September 2022, so make sure to have a look if you're in the area!
