Our 2024 Community Print
Amplify and Storyteller
Amplify and Storyteller
Each season we collaborate with artists, designers and our community to create prints exclusive to The Social Outfit and we are excited to tell you all about our new Community Prints for 2024.
This years Community Print Project celebrates the voices of young students from both Birrong Girls High School and Bossley Park High School. The Social Outfit in collaboration with Story Factory, hosted creative writing art-making workshops to explore the concept of 'fashioning'.
Artist Izzy Parker was assisted by Sonya Price-Kelly and Chatchakonrak Promchan to facilitate creative art and clay workshops around the theme of Free to Fashion.
Artist Clementine Barnes was engaged by The Social Outfit to develop two textile prints from the students' creative outputs from this project. Clementine is an Australian artist currently living and working in France and first collaborated with The Social Outfit in 2020 on the Heirloom Community print.
Amplify is The Social Outfits 10th Birthday digital print that captures students’ artworks and photography of clay forms. The artwork was printed on 100% silk crepe de chine. Amplify is available in an array of silk garments, canvas accessories and recycled paper stationary.
Storyteller is the Social Outfit’s 10th Birthday Digital Print that highlights two motifs that came from mark-making exercises in the pastel workshops. Storyteller drops on the 12th September as The Social Outfit’s featured print in Drop 2 of Spring Summer.
We wish to extend our thanks and acknowledgements to our Free to Fashion donors and project partner Story Factory.
